Here’s Yuki advertising the SOS Brigade. How do you advertise your anime club?

About 3 years ago, I wrote a blog post on animeacademy about comparing my old anime club to Genshiken and asking how big everyone’s anime club is/was. Now, I want to ask a new question about everyone’s anime club: How do you show off to get new members?

Ugh. Here we go again.

For those of you who came from the old blog, you may recognize this title. My first ever post was about my high school cafeteria and prices while being related to anime (which I used Code Geass) in some sort of fashion. I also had some positive feedback on the post, which of course made me happy. Anyway, you’re probably wondering why I’m reusing this title. “Are your classmates boycotting against prices again?” is probably what your thinking. Well, no. Actually, it’s something that I believe that should be protested against. (Read More)

Seitokai no Ichizon – A flashback to reality

studentcounciljudgementI hope it’s just a coincidence. I hope it’s just a coincidence… WHY!?

While I was watching some of the first episodes of some of the Fall 2009 anime, I decided to take a swing at Seitokai no Ichizon for comedy. The first episode definitely bombarded you with random anime references, but I got a few laughs out of it. Further into the episode, something from my memory hit me really hard: The Seitokai is just like my Animation club. Even though I didn’t want to believe it, the second episode mostly supported this fact.

Go Big or Go Home?

Nagi-sama! Nagi-sama! Nagi-sama!!!!

Since my old blog has met its demise, I had to postpone this post. Finally, I was able to start this blog last night and now I can post this. One weekend, my family went to visit John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. I happened to forgot that the same weekend was Otakon 2009 weekend, even though Nii-chan and Aniki reminded me the other night. We decided not to register for Otakon 2009 because we’re all too lazy to drive 3 hours out of the way and sleep in Baltimore for 2 nights. Well, after the usual look around the campus, I wanted to go watch cosplayers do crazy stuff. Our parents went to watch a movie while I went with Aniki and Nii-chan to watch random cosplayers go by in front of the shopping plaza. Since we couldn’t actually go inside the convention center, we entertained ourselves by doing something that we do for any convention. (There are spoilers if you have not watched Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann or Code Geass R2 coming up). (Read More)

Random Anime Moments

Who would’ve known that I could use Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei as an anime moment.

tsukagi-48.jpgWhile school passes by and finals become right around the corner, I begin to notice random moments that I can compare to anime to. I know that some of you will be saying, “Of course, Silly. Some anime is realistic to a point.” or something like that but those moments shouldn’t be ignored! (well, that’s what I think) Since I’m on the topic, I might as well tell you my small anime moments. (Read More)

Anime Clubs – How big are they?

This is roughly how my club looks like according to members.

tsukagi-48.jpgThe past Wednesday, as I was supervising my Anime Club at my high school while we were decorating the display case. We were asked by some teachers put some of our own items and drawings there to show how we’ve been doing. Somehow, a few club members and I happened to start talking about other anime clubs in the states and how they’re doing. That made me wonder: How big are those clubs anyway? (Read More)

Yes, Haruhi. That’s exactly what I felt like when I was in lunch today.

tsukagi-48.jpgGood day, everyone. I’m kame-chan, the sis of koneko-chan and chigaimasu. I’ll try my best to be another writer on this blog. Although I’m having my hands full of school work and other activities, I’ll pop in some posts when I can. Anyway… Let’s start!

Just last week, there has been quite a ruckus at my high school. During 4th period lunch, there was a student who made a statement in front of everyone, saying that the prices of the food in the cafeteria were too high. I have 5th period lunch so I was unable to witness this event but, of course, the word of this has already spread throughout the school at an amazing rate. I was informed by this incident when changing from 5th to 6th period. I thought it that this might have been just a joke and won’t last until tomorrow. I was mistaken. (Read More)
