After going through my pictures from Animnext 2011 and reminiscing previous conventions, I realized that there has been quite a change in American Otaku-ism the past 5 years. Now, for those who go to huge, major conventions may not agree with what I’ve been seeing, but for those who go to small, local conventions, you may understand my perspective a bit.

The Answer is Always… – Saturday at Animenext 2011

First ever Kaichou wa Maid-sama cosplayer I’ve ever seen and she does the maid uniform. I’m glad I notice details.

As a normal con-goer for my local conventions, Nii-chan and I decided to go (Saturday only, of course) to Animenext 2011 this past weekend. Unlike last year, when we could only go for the Stereopony concert, we were able to sit-in on the typical Karaoke Contest and random game shows,  Anime Dating Game and Chain Reaction. However, this year didn’t have the major typical technical difficulties with the panels and the cosplayers were quite decent so I actually have a decent amount to say for the yearly convention post.

Random Youtube Findings – Pokemon: The Musical and Mario-Bruno Mars Parody?

After coming back from Europe, catching up on the Summer Season, fully watching Star Driver, and recovering from jet lag, I decided to scurry around some music+anime-related fan-made videos on youtube. Of course, there’s the usual piano, guitar, bass, band, and even violin renditions of OPs and EDs on there, as well as the amazingly done Mario Paint Composer ones (in which I also found a Nyan Cat version which I kind of do and don’t regret). But I ended up finding two videos that struck me (though they strayed a bit from the anime concept a bit) the most: (Read More)

These upcoming two weeks, I’ll be in Europe with my parents touring around Spain. Sadly, I will not have my laptop with me because I’m not going to risk losing it while traveling so there will definitely no posts coming from the blog starting tomorrow, Friday May 20th, to the first Thursday of June, which is the 2nd. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make a new post right when I come back, but if not, expect the next post to be about Animenext 2011. That is all I need to say, so with that, I will leave you guys with the small photoshop work that I was doing this past week. Note: They’re supposed to look like card fronts.
