Summer Season 2011 – Mid-Season Thoughts

As the start of classes for me are just around the corner (since I go back in exactly a week) and we reach midway into the Summer 2011 Season, it’s time for the quick Mid-Season Thoughts for everything I’m keeping up with. The Answer is Always… – Saturday at Animenext 2011

First ever Kaichou wa Maid-sama cosplayer I’ve ever seen and she does the maid uniform. I’m glad I notice details.

As a normal con-goer for my local conventions, Nii-chan and I decided to go (Saturday only, of course) to Animenext 2011 this past weekend. Unlike last year, when we could only go for the Stereopony concert, we were able to sit-in on the typical Karaoke Contest and random game shows, ¬†Anime Dating Game and Chain Reaction. However, this year didn’t have the major typical technical difficulties with the panels and the cosplayers were quite decent so I actually have a decent amount to say for the yearly convention post.

“Con”ing with Club Members – My Saturday at Zenkaikon 2011

Once again, taking pictures of things I won’t buy because it’s so expensive. Also, I’m positive most of the people who were at Zenkaikon on Saturday haven’t heard of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu anyway.

For those who live in the NY/NJ/PA area, they would know that this past weekend was Zenkaikon V. Although I wasn’t all that interested in going since I’ve been to 3 of the other 4 times they hosted it, this would be the first convention I would go to with my college’s anime club so I decided to go. With a group of 18+ Anime club members, things are bound to be super fun, right?

Plot Summary

Akihisa Yoshii attends a certain school where classes are arranged from A to F in which class A has the best facilities and class F has the worst. Students are allowed to have Examination Summon Battles (ESB) with other classes, allowing them to switch facilities if they win. They compete with their summons, which are based off of their own test grades. (Read More)
